I’m Amanda M. Davis, a children’s author who believes some of the most meaningful stories begin with the people, animals, and moments that touch our hearts.
Inspired by the magic of childhood and the power of gentle guidance, I create worlds where young readers can explore big emotions and discover their own courage.
My journey as an author began with one unforgettable tabby cat named Oliver P. Nooters. His playful personality, endless curiosity, and gentle spirit inspired my very first published works—the 10-book Oliver P. Nooters series. What began as a loving tribute to my best friend became the foundation of my writing career and sparked a lifelong passion for creating stories for children.
Today, I have written 46 children’s books, each created to entertain, encourage imagination, and help young readers explore important lessons about kindness, honesty, responsibility, friendship, forgiveness, confidence, and compassion.
I’m incredibly honored that my books are now enjoyed in schools, libraries, classrooms, and homes around the world. Knowing that children in so many places are reading these stories is one of the greatest joys of my life.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I love chasing waterfalls, hiking scenic trails, rockhounding, gold prospecting, fishing, and discovering hidden places that spark new ideas and adventures.
